The Economic Development Authority is responsible for the retention, expansion and attraction of businesses to the county. The authority's goal is to meet the business community's needs. The Authority pursues and contacts business prospects that are expanding, moving within the county, or relocating to the county from another jurisdiction. In doing so, the division ascertains the needs of each business and structures an incentive package to meet its requirements. Incentives can include expediting permits, tax credits, work force assistance, site identification, county and state financial assistance, and SBA financial assistance.
The division identifies established programs that will benefit businesses. LEDA strives to attract new businesses, stimulate private investment, encourage the expansion and retention of existing companies and provide Troup County business with workforce training and financial assistance. The Department markets local products and services at home and abroad.
Retention & Expansion
LEDA works with businesses that are expanding, moving within the county, or relocating to Troup County from another jurisdiction. In doing so, we ascertain the needs of each business and structure our assistance to meet their needs. Site identification, help navigating the permitting process, workforce screening, recruitment and training, introduction to procurement opportunities, and access to tax credit programs or other incentives—all are services we can offer.
In many cases, we work with other divisions within the ECG, or with a partner organization, such as the LaGrange Troup County Chamber of Commerce when providing these services.
LEDA and many of its partners have teamed up to call on major employers in Troup County to introduce each firm’s leadership to the programs and services available to them through the ECG.
